Personal Website

Hello and welcome to my personal website! My name is Daniel Palamarchuk, and I am a 1st year PhD Computer Science (CS) student at the University of Maryland (UMD). I am advised by Dr. Cody Buntain and collaborating with Dr. Sarah Wiegreffe. I am currently working on:

  • Analyzing Ukrainian social media patterns through dynamic networks and topics following Russia’s 2022 invasion
  • Analyzing overlapping behaviors and cognitive biases in Large Language Models via circuit analysis

Before UMD, I graduated from Virginia Tech (VT) in May 2024 with MS CS. There, I was advised by Dr. Chris North and researched dynamic topic modeling. Specifically, I developed a cluster-based topic model for temporally aligned word and doc2vec topic discovery.

I hold dual bachelor degrees in Computer and Data Science from VT as well. During my time there, I received minors in political science and math. I researched Virginia state lobbying and its effect on environmental bill passage rates.

Various parts about me are linked on the left, including my social media and GitHub (for source code, go there). The best way to get ahold of me is via email at: dpalam at umd dot edu
